An applicant who has been accepted or who is enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program at the University of British Columbia will receive the award to conduct research on subjects related to the goals and activities of the Canadian Celiac Association. If the study project is based in Canada, both foreign and domestic students may participate. The prize comes with a huge annual value of $25,000.

The applicants must be engaged in research related to celiac disease, dermatitis herpetiformis, non-celiac gluten sensitivity, or the socioeconomic effects of delayed diagnosis and/or dealing with these disorders. The research topic must be of a scientific, applied scientific, or medical nature.
